Last week I lost my cell phone. I looked everywhere for the damn thing with no luck. A couple days later the Fedex guy comes to deliver a parcel and finds the phone on the driveway. (it had been snowing) The phone had been driven over and was toast.

So today, I went out to get a new one. Google's new algo is easier to figure out than this thing. It shouldn't take 3 hours to figure out and set up a phone right? Right?

I am very tempted to see how this one holds up after being driven over several times.......or dropped from a great height, or thrown from a tall building, or flushed.

What kind of phone did you get? I've got an oldschool Motorola StarTAC [epinions.com]. About the only complaint I've got is that it doesn't have a screen outside the phone for caller ID. Polyphonic ringtones would be nice too ;P

PMAC,

I want a new phone too (my last battery is slowly dieing :(

What did you get? How many other devices does it connect to? Does it come with a DVD or CD tutorial on how to set it up? Are night school courses offered locally or will you have to travel?

Maybe that will be my new career, setting up rich peoples phones for them.

PMAC, I really do want to know what you got and which phone company you are with. I am looking as well.

Merry Christmas,
Shane

Cellphones are to this decade what video recorders were to the 80's. Only twelve year olds can program/use them!

Right. It wasn't a commentary on how crappy the phone is, but rather it was an admission of my own ineptitude.

I've got a Nokia 7650 phone [nokia.com] and I tell you, its the best cellphone in the world!
It lets me take pictures, play JAVA games, surf the net, check my mail, and god, so much else! It runs on a Symbian OS 6, it also has a Joystick controller!
Although, I have to pay $62 NZ a month for 2 years :(

Oooo You've got the fancy version of my phone :P

I love Motorola phones. Mine has definately proven itself.

My fiancee has always had a Nokia and always had problems with it (no matter how many times she got it replaced.. up to 5 now I think).

Thats funny because I've had mine since about 6 months and had not a single problem with it.

I am looking at the 720 also. It appears to be only one I can see without my glasses. ;)
