need info on mp3 player as gift

There are a lot of portable cd players, (Walkman-type things), that will handle mp3's these days, under 100 CDN$ in Canada at the low end, (about 70 euros). They're not as spiffy as an ipod, prone to skipping when bumped etc, but they work fine otherwise.

I had one until last Aug ... it got scooped out of the car while I was underground in Maroon Town. So it goes. I'd like another one though... it was very cool. I could have 10 cd's with me and have around 2000 songs. On one disc, I had all of Beethoven's symphonies except for a couple of movements of the 9th.
