Just discovered an interesting new article on theregister about the deskbar which can be found at:

[theregister.co.uk...]

The most interesting part of this article is:

Well, rather depressingly, Google seems to have hit the nail on the head again. We’ve been using it for a little over two weeks and it is rapidly becoming the main way information is accessed off the Net.

Depressingly! What's all that about?

Why has TheRegister got a huge grudge against google?

Have not read much TheRegister for a long time, but my impression is that they don't like powerfull companies of any kind.

Yeah, the Inquirer is like that too. They are slightly anti-corporate. If they were people, they would be Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon ;)

ya TheRegister often runs negative stories about google.. lurking through forums like this one for info and then running stories about google 'bugs'.

I installed the deskbar myself and found I didn't use it much at all over a week, since I always have a browser open. I hated those colours down there all the time anyway, distracting.
