I've already noticed the better spam filtering. Everyone works to identify spam with this system. It adapts for everyone.

Clean, crisp, easy to follow design.

I like. :)

Notice the long long long search box (where signout use to be) - It begs to search > Please, please search using me, I want to be rich.

Shaadi,

You can go to the options and change the tabs at the top back to the old layout.

This sucks - My network(large UK organisation) has many protective perameters. It appears that in this case I cannot open any of my mail at this PC beacause they have put in Javascript links to new mail. Pants!

Sign out button in the top middle of the page is really user unfriendly. I had lots of trouble before finding my inbox. The first screen told me I had 1 new mail when in fact I had 2.

Conclusion: I hate it! But then I only use the web version when at work, at home I access it through Eudora. Just means I'll check my mails less often from work. Hmm, maybe my boss talked with Microsoft ;).

I think the reason I like it,and other's don't, is because I was prepared. I knew how it was going to work before the launch because I was so bored that I watched the preview.

How very Outlook!

Is anyone else having trouble seeing the difference between new (yellow) messages and old (white) ones?
I never used to have to press my face against the screen to check I've got anything

No problems here. Seems pretty clear. Although a flatscreen/laptop may have issues.

>> Hmmm...ADVERTS! why is here sound and video playing?

Mine aren't playing sound (becuase I disabled the feature in IE; also prevents some viruses). Very annoying but they had this before.

It sucks. There is an old saying. If it ain't broke, then don't fix it. Wished MSFT would listen to that statement.

I just wish they'd got rid of the damn "You are visiting a site outside of Hotmail. To return to Hotmail, close this browser window" strip at the top of every link

No problems here using Opera. Tried both - ID'd as Opera and as Moz. Funny, I couldn't use Opera before this change, had to use IE....

Okay, this is the second major revamp of hotmail in a year. While we are all good internet users, I wonder how confused joe shmoe is getting.

I think it's actually too slick. Maybe it because I market to an older crowd, but the font on all the tabs and buttons is way too tiny. Anyone over the age of 40 is going to be squniting. It also makes it harder to find the button you need and since they moved them all over the place, it's a little hard to find them.

The filter does seem better and to tell you the truth, I would swear they are now bouncing junk rather than dumping it in my junk mail. I've only gotten three emails in my junk box today and normally its more like 10 - 15.

>No problems here using Opera.

Knew it! It's just Brett. They are trying to convert him to an IE-user. :)

Guess the design is not that bad, but did they really need that additional page that shows first when you log in? When I go there, it's to check my emails, so I want to see that first thing.

<added>Oh, and having about the only black text on the page being one of the few links is totally stupid IMHO.</added>

Still more to complain about: When I go to empty my junk mail folder, I get an alert (so far so good) with just a number in it (not so good)...

>>Knew it! It's just Brett. They are trying to convert him to an IE-user.

Yeah, they probably got his IP banned. ;)

>>No problems here using Opera.

I stuck with Opera 6.05. Found later versions too slow. I can access Hotmail, but it looks like a pile of garbage with text overflowing images.

I will stick with yahoo! for my throw away accounts...

I've had on and off problems with hotmail and opera. Some days it lets me in, other days it doesn't. At least I only use it for throwaway.

I'm not having trouble with Hotmail identifying as Opera - thank goodness, because I've had enough trouble with other sites lately to last me the rest of the year! (Anyone else have issues with PayPal and Opera?)

Yes. I've never gor PayPal to accept my reistration, although it never occurred to me that they'd made such an elementary error as not working with certain browsers.

Hotmail? Where did I see that name before? In my spamfilter, perhaps? Yep, there it is, in the blacklist. Sorry folks, seems that you're in bad company.

They sure like to make it hard to find such a simple thing as composing a message.

This seems like a cheap imitation of yahoo web mail. And man, those long wide search boxes and those tiny icons..Sucks!
