Ppl pls explain why ppl use these abrvs

Seems to me that "people" and "please" are short enough that they don't need shortening. A very slight annoyance to me. (SO STOP DOING IT NOW!)Are they just web-isms or are those words commonly abbreviated in Europe.

I think it started with SMS, and later found their way to the web. Language and it use are changing, why fight it?

Language evolves, and this is just another evolution. Not much you can do about it I think.
