Hi All,

I'm curious if anyone is selling information products on
their sites, such as ebooks or access to specific
information databases. I started selling very specific
information products and tutorials, such as "how much is
your widget worth" or "How old is your widget" about four
years ago ( when it was considered suicide)for
micropayments and was wondering about other's
experiences in this same field.

It's been a gradual process for me, I test market by
checking for popular keywords related to my business and
then put together a information product based on those
keywords. My income has gradually increased with each new
product goes online, and since it's all automated I don't
have to carry any inventory, suppliers, worry about charge
backs or billings. I hope to develop about ten more
products before the end of the year, as the seven
I've got going now are paying the mortgage.

I am curious. How do you process payments and what would you recommend? PayPal? Amazon Honor System? Process credit cards yourself?

Hi,

I've been using PayPal from day one with no problem at all.
I've heard that a new micropay system is in the works
( mention here in one of the forums) that will increase
profits for sites like mine.
Service charges are the big killer with small payments
right now, but I believe that the future of the web will
be instant access to specific information. While checking
my logs the other day I noticed that my services
providing "instant widget appraisals" are begining to
outdraw our regular widget services that have a turnover
of 48 hours. People seem to want their information quick
and will pay for it if it is cheap.
