Surgery tomorrow ...

A small request ...

On October 31, 2003, a CT scan revealed a "moderate-sized" (think golf ball) tumor in my brain cavity. Talk about a reality-check!

Starting at 7:45am CST today (Monday, November 10th), neurosurgeons will be working to remove this tumor. Surgery will last from 2 to 8 hours depending on what doctors find.

Why am I posting this message? Simply to ask if you would think of me (prayers, thoughts, or anything else) today. I apologize for this strange request, but I really feel like I can use all of the thoughts and prayers I can get.

All the best,

Matt aka VictorE

I just wanted to say a big "THANK YOU" for all of the well-wishes, thoughts, and prayers.

Although it's still early, things appear to have gone as well as could ever be expected: the brain tumor was benign, it appears to be totally removed, and I am (so far) having a remarkable recovery.

Again, I can't tell you how much I appreciate all of your kind words.

Welcome back, Matt. I'm glad that you overcame your initial doubts and shared your burden with us. You may not realise it, but actually you made the community richer by doing so.

May you carry other burdens, that your life will put upon you, with the same dignity that you have shown in this case.

Walk in beauty.

Matt,
That is awesome and I know exactly what you are going through.

About two years ago I spent two months of my life thinking I had a very advanced stage 4 cancer.

One of the happiest days of my life is when a doctor told me the tumors in my liver were common hemangioma's (blood cycts). The main tumor was removed and my prognosis is excellent.

I am typing this up as I recover from a follow up surgery. I'm almost out of percocet but am feeling better.

I do a lot of "one handed" surfing from the couch and I really appreciate sites that, perhaps by accident, follow accessibility guidelines.

Woohoo! That's great news - mind if I go out tonight and get completely ratted on your behalf? Seems like a good excuse to me!
