After several months of receiving regulary Job Requests by eMail i'm thinking if it's possibly a new type of scam / spam or whatever.

Every couple of days i receive Job Requests to one of our info@ adresses. They are allways written in french, coming from Quebec / Montreal (sender / ip etc. look like valid .ca hosts). The email subjects are 99% identical Service des ressources humaines but from different people (unknown to google).

We didn't advertize any job offers anywhere and we are not present in canada at all (actually europe). All eMails contain a text with general info about the applicant and a attached word document with the detailed CV. (I don't open them in word but with a txt editor to look at the contents).

I replied to a couple of them asking where they found our contact email and where they might have found a job advertizings from us. Never received any reply.

Google doesn't reveal any secret if we're prob listed at any canadian job database or such ...

Any idea?

> different people

Are you sure? Couldn't it be one person using different identities? So many weird things happen on the web with people having agendas completely incomprehensible to almost anybody else. I see strange things in my logs now and then. Some of the searches are really weird, and in some cases they are done again and again, always leading to the same page.

I gess someone just put Yidaki on some local job list. Could have been worst if this person used Yidaki's email with a "good" picture on some dating sites... ;)

Yes, my undercover agent from Quebec phoned the person - which is a proof of her existance. :)

You have interesting ideas. mac! :)

Yidaki, you haven't found virus infected files in any of these mails? My ISP's virus filter just caught an infected mail with this file attached:

ledigajobb[1].htm

"Lediga jobb" is Swedish and means "vacant job(s)".

Most likely there is no connection between some Canadians sending job requests in French to Europe and a virus infected Danish mail with a Swedish titled attachment, but I do find the coincidence interesting.
