Anyone experiencing communications issues related to the solar flare? (Article in New Scientist [newscientist.com])

My office ISP has been having problems, and a local retail store I visited was having difficulty getting credit cards and checks authorized. They blamed solar flare issues, but it's hard to say whether this is actually flare related or just normally poor service... :(

This thing is like 300 times larger than last Fridays storm. I feel a little light headed but I think it might be the soda and tea kicking in.

I sat down, had a wicked headrush...and saw spots.

Our internet was all screwy here at work, it is a t-1 wireless line.

Down here in Georgia, US we have a chance of seeing the northern lights tonight because of it.

Now that you mention it, bcolflesh, so am I. I had no idea the solar flare effects could be so insidious. I may have to take the rest of the day off. :)

I can hear the electrons pounding on my roof.. I think I'll have to put my protective think cap on if it gets worse...

Nah, forget it, I haven't seen the folks from Northern Light in years...

Better not mention solar flares in the Adsense forum - it will start a cascade of threads like, "CTR is down - Solar Flare?" and "Haven't received check yet, probably solar flare". ;)

I'm having trouble concentrating.

Me too. I thought it was because of 3 glasses of scrumpy for breakfast.

I'm using a two-way satellite internet connection, and expected to be blown off the air today - but absolutely no problems whatsoever... could happen anytime, though, we'll see.

If you missed the show last night, you might catch it tonight, as a second powerfull ejection took place again late Wednesday, and may combine with the first storm.

I wanted to look for the Aurora Australis last night but it was raining. It's fine now, so hopefully tonight will be better.

I hope my new Google listings aren't just due to the solar flares.
