UK/Australia - should I be fretting?

I've just moved to Australia from London. While it is very nice here (just went for a swim today, saw a Koala the other day, lying still on the side of the road mind...) I'm a bit worried about my computer. I'm having it shipped over and it should be getting here sharpish.

Does anyone know the answer to this question: can I just get adapters for my UK plugs and plug my computer in here or are there some voltage issues I should be worried about? Any help would be very, well, helpful. Thanks ;)

Oh, yeah, I will post more when I get my computer over. I've not posted for something like three weeks and it feels very strange indeed - I guess I'm having withdrawal symptoms (not knowing if yahoo is mixing someone else's results in for a split second or if Google has broken wind is a bit strange). :)

Pretty much all modern devices can handle all commmon AC power from 110 to 240. You probably don't have a problem.

Check the plate by the computer's power socket. It should tell you what it is capable of.

The UK is technically 240 volts by officially described as 230 to meet some EU regulation.

Disregard this advice if the device starts smoking.

Same as UK, in theory - 230V/50 Hz - so no problems. Good luck now you've made it down-under.

In both coutries 240V, 50Hz are more commonly found, both recently changed to nominally 230V (with 240V within tolerance), as victor has indicated. Either way, 230V appliances are spec'ed to work between 220V and 240V so there are no issues.

My experience in making the move was that the most useful item in the first few weeks is a few UK 6-plug powerboard. Just change the plug on the powerboards, and you can use your appliances while you get around to changing all the plugs.
