This is a public service announcement from FOO...

Dave Barry says:

And I am, frankly, tempted to reveal to you here that the American Teleservices Association (www.ataconnect.org/) seems to have a phone line working (at least for now) at 317-816-9336.

Great article. Thanks for the new number. Perhaps we should all use it. Early and often.

You have to make sure that you call them when they are likely trying to eat. DB also posted the web address. That site is running awful slow for some reason. ;-)

I'm not from the US but I wish I was to be able to call them - hehehe

Anybody wants to give them a call on my behalf ;)

Cheers

I read elsewhere (can't remember where just now) that eleven of the top guys at the Direct Marketing Association--one of the organizations fighting the Do Not Call list--are registered on the Do Not Call list. So are the judges in Denver and Oklahoma City who ruled against it.

It all takes the biscuit.

personally i think telemarketers and spammers should be shot! - O.K. maybe a little strong, but the law should protect all that wish not to recieve any form of communication from a commercial organisation, that they did not in any way invite on themselves.

You guys outside the U.S. could go through an operator and tell him you want to reverse the charges. Let the telemarketers pay for the call if they are foolish enough to accept.
