MSNBC is showing a study from England that ranked nationalities in order of happiness. Nigerians rank first. U.S. is 16th. Britain 24th.

Of course Nigerians are happy. Every one is related to some former President, prince or military leader with $70 million to squirrel out of the country.

Survey says Russians, Eastern Europeans are the unhappiest

Mexico, Venezuela, El Salvador and Puerto Rico rank right behind Nigeria.

Does this study say something profund about industrialization? Perhaps it only means that warm weather makes people happy!

I think it has more to do with culture. Islanders and Spanish-speaking countries have a more laid back attitude on life. Why shouldn't Nigerians be the happpiest with all their wealthy relatives? Whoever said money cannot buy happiness is obviously wrong.

You have to take it easy when the afternoon heat is uncomfortably warm. You're not in some temperature controlled corporate tower that separates you from the outside environment. Hey, when Spanish beer is only $1.00 USD, how could you not relax? ;) I live in the US, but I like to think independent web professionals can adopt some of the African/Latin traits because of our less structured work environment.
