I was using GAIM gaim.sourceforge.net but was irritated by the recent "upgrade your chat" notices from MSN and Yahoo, so I downloaded Trillian today www.trillian.cc - but it crashes everytime I try to add a second Y! Messenger account to it.

I find being able to run all my chat IDs under one program (plus the ability to have multiple chat IDs from the same service open simultaneously) much more practical.

Don't get me wrong, I don't stay online all day using chat, but I like to offer it as an inexpensive alternative for some of my clients to keep in touch with me.

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

I use WinXP as my main OS.

BX (B***hX ... YOU fill in the blanks) is what I use for my IRC purposes.

For AIM, I use a fixed/doctored up TCL client that friend and I have been working on for quite some time now.

I use a modified version of GAIM, too.
