Boss said, "Just send an HTML form to Programmer."
"I don't have any that work yet," I said.
"Just send one of the ones Co-Worker was working on," he said.
I sent one to Programmer, one of the ones Co-Worker had generated to HTML from Word, with an accompanying email stating I had no idea what was going on, but had been told to send this to him.
Programmer came to see me.
"That one works fine," he said.
"What?" I said.
"The HTML file. From Word. It works fine. I don't know what you're talking about, with all that CSS, and Boss was talking about XML and XSLT. I don't know why. The Word HTML works fine. It just doesn't have the table I need in it. Can you put the table in it?"
"..."
"What?" (Programmer has noticed my astonishment.)
"Co-Worker generated those. From Word. She told me that they didn't work, and I'd have to do them. Using a different method. I've been working for two days on a different method. I've nearly finished."
"I don't know why she told you that," Programmer said. "It was when she generated the HTML from Visio that we had the problem. HTML from Word was fine. I just needed the tables added. I'm sorry you've been working so long but it really wasn't necessary."
I don't think it was Programmer's fault; his English isn't much good and he didn't realize what they'd told me, and it's my own darn fault I hadn't thought to ask him sooner.

I lived in Rochester for 4 years, and my boyfriend's a native of Buffalo, so we know what we're getting into.
Though I really don't see what the difference is; we had plenty of snow in Westchester, and the difference is that down here they're idiots and don't know how to cope with it. At least they know when to salt a road in Buffalo.
