It's September 11 today...

I lost one friend that I know of during the attacks on the WTC. My old rugby teammate Jim Greenleaf was working at Carr Futures on the 92nd floor of Tower 1. He is still missed.

What sort of memorials or events are they holding this year to commemorate things? I haven't seen much in the media from this side of the planet.

Its rather strange - I expected something on the TV (in the UK) but nothing was scheduled.

I was an I.T. manager working in Florida at the time of the attack and remember just how much of an impact it had on the department. I really would have liked to see some coverage of how things are now 2 years on.

There is alot of discussions going on on other message boards today.

I am not going to post my opinions, because webmaster world is so blissfully free of politics.

But some people really get me riled up.

Anybody else having trouble getting to sleep? In 2001, I pulled an all-nighter working at Google (they have couches where you can crash if you work late). I woke up, came back to my computer, and saw an email from an ads engineer that said a trade center had collapsed.

Now it feels like I'll be up again tonight, but just because I can't get to sleep.
