“The Americans didn’t get the British humour,” Cameron Saunders, WCRS’s planning director, said. “We gave the marketing director some episodes of The Office and told him to go away and watch them for a couple of days. It helped him understand irony and bathos.”

Even though I find it irritating, that campaign is phenomenal.

Inspired planning and execution.

It is a master class in advertising in the UK that's for sure. Pictures of the running vests here [news.bbc.co.uk] and you can even find them on eBay now.

They just sent us a huge box of cute deck chair mobile phone holders, must be about 200 at least.

They are eveywhere, everyone in the office has one and is taking them home too.

What a great idea , everytime you pick your phone up or put it down you see 118 118 :)

On a side note - does anyone think that the Halifax character (who gives you EXTRA?) has outlived his welcome by now (this is from someone who hated him from the start)?

Those halifax adverts are getting even more annoying, first they start with people who sing so badly they've got to play the advert backwards just to make it understandable (careful you don't play it the right way or it probably says something like "The devil made me do this")... Then they went on to the animated stuff that tries (and fails) to be like an aardman film... Ugh...

Mind you, I've never responded to any telly advertising anyway, this 118-118 thing? who cares, I'll stick to 192 on the mobile thank you very much ;-P
