I'm stuck here trying to find a resolution for these Messenger Service Alerts I'm getting! Ad-Aware is not helping. Has anyone run into this problem? The following is the alert I get:

Message from SYSTEM ALERT to UNSAFE USER on [date] [time]
Did you know that there is a one-click easy way to stop these pop-ups FOREVER? For free information, please visit url link

I get this same alert with about 3 or 4 different URLs.

I'm running XP; all my windows updates are installed, and my Norton Virus defs are up to date as well.

If what you are talking about is the little dialog box that only has an ok button... then here's what you do:

Start -> Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services

Look for the one that says, Messenger and set it to manual startup.

Ahh, thank you both! Set it to manual!
