I hate Spam

What can one do about it?

My inbox keeps flooding with spam emails everyday. I am personally sick of it. Is there any i-dont-want-spam organization to report it? Or is there a way to opt out of ALL the mass mailing databases? (like the dont-call-me program, recently started)

sorry, there is no "i don't want spam" organization or list... it was an idea at one time but those "bad" spammers would use it to confirm active addresses...

the best defense is a good offense... filter them to another folder and report them... get their sites shutdown, get their access removed, hit them in the pocketbook...

use spamassasin or mailwasher to filter, block, or remove the spams... i prefer to filter them to another folder and then forward them to spamcop.net for further reporting... all spamcop.net does is to tell you where the mail really came from... then you file the report by clicking the submit button...

another option is to forward them to your ISP's abuse department and let them handle them...
