Dear webmasters!

I hope you all are fine and in good health.

I can make a pretty concrete comparison between two systems I use often.
My boyfriend has a Macintosh Powerbook G-4 with 800 mhz processor.
I have an iMac G-4 with 1 Ghz processor.
His computer gets used more often because i can carry it around.
My computer is nice to use for big projects because you can set it up a little more comfortably.
Both have active-matrix LCD screens and they're both viewable from a wide range of angles-- that's not such a big deal now.
His is nice because we can take it with us on trips and get work done and have our data with us and the like.
Mine is nice because the CD burner and DVD reader are much more powerful-- often, the laptop won't read a DVD if there's so much as a smudge on it, while my computer doesn't even hiccup.
My computer has far more space and some more power.
It cost several hundred dollars less and has a larger screen as well.
So you're going to pay about 1/3 extra for 1/3 less computer if you get a laptop, on average.

But the computer wouldn't get used nearly as much if it were bigger.

So you have to make the decision for yourself: portability and flexibility, or power and comfort?

This very much boils down to what you do and what you prefer. A Dell Inspiron the lastest models can be almost as powerful as a latest desktop but will cost you a lot more.

However you do not have to pay customs, as it is difficult to prove the laptop was not used before etc.

A laptop can do everything a PC can do but normally at slighlty lower speeds and at additional cost.

To be honest I am not sure I understand the question?

Me neither. But it appears that he is from Pakistan and English is his second language, so it may be simpler than it looks.

The word laptops is used to refer to portable computers that you can carry around in a briefcase. Desktop computers are the ones that sit on or under your table. Hope that helps.
