A colleague recently returned a book he borrowed from me - 'Boo Hoo: A Dot Com Story' about the collapse of Boo.com.
Anyway, i got curious and typed www.boohoo.com in my address bar to see who owned the domain...

Interesting result :)

I loved that book. Spending 150 million in VC and then suddenly smelling the coffee beans: "Yeah, I know we don't have a website yet. Why don't you give us another 150 mil and we'll see what we can do"...

And they wondered why they couldn't raise any more VC...

Great book, if anyone hasn't read it - get it - a superb textbook of how not to do it.

Apparently, a full page ad in Vouge is several thousand pounds, but an editorial, for which 2 of your most senior employees both fly Concorde to America for and spend several days in expensive hotels is free!

Yeah, just read it - great stuff. Kind of wanted them to make it work by then end though. Bit like watching a football match you know the result of but still getting the feeling 'something might happen' towards the end.

Or is that just me? ;)
