During a routine traffic check in the western city of Essen, police asked if the 25-year- old man had drunk anything. He answered: "Twenty beers at most if you want me to be perfectly honest, officer. But that's it, really."

Only twenty beers? And they call that drunk? Well, there you see it didn't happen in Bavaria. ;)

It also might be important to know:
-how much he wieghed; -size of each beer; -time period of consumption; -whether food was consumed while drinking; -what is his metabolic rate; -what type of test was administered to determine alcohol level; -whether the test(s) were properly administered and scored according to procedures promulgated by the manufacturer.
And that's just for starters. :)

LOL lawman. Still, it's probably not the best thing to say to an officer of the law. :)

Only shows that you have never been in Bavaria... ;) The beers around here are two to five times the size as most anywhere else. Very few people manage to pull in more than six of those in one session. And the chosen few won't be able to even open their cars after that.

Been there, drunk it (but didn't get the t-shirt, it was too large), only I wasn't thinking of 20 'Mass' (1 litre) but only 'Stangen' (0.3 litre).

You'd stay rather sober ordering a "Stange" in Bavaria. Nothing to get by that name other than strange looks from the waitress... ;)

Damn, I always mix that up. Stange is what we call them in Switzerland.
