i currently have a network of 6 computers, one directly connected to a hardware router with a LAN cable, and the others are all connected using wireless technology. Now this set up works fine with router doing internet sharing and DHCP etc.
Now the problem comes in where i have 6 Real IPs i want to use and assign to each computer, except unfortunatly i can't turn off the NAT on the router thus i can only use 1 IP for the whole network! Contacted the manufactor (Netgear) and there is nothing i can do to the router to change that so i need a work around.
So now i am tinking if i can use Windows Advanced Server on one of the computer to handle DHCP could i give out the real IPs to the computers? NOTE: the router also has the ADSL modem built inside itso am going to have to work with that somehow!
Any ideas?
Let me know if you find a solution, as I will be coming up against this same problem in the next month.
