Dear Bill Thompson,

I hope you are a member here? You seem so well informed, I can't see how you can't be. How did you become you? Are you going to pubcon V? You're like the BBC's mini-internet guru...

Regards,

Dear Webmasterworld,

Don't you love Bill Thompson's articles? I'd love to have a job like his. A witty but informed discussion aimed at Joe Public :-) If only he was writing content for my sites not for the BBC!

Fascinating, ostrich in the sand stuff. It seems the ad industry STILL thinks that rich media animated flashy ads will work if ONLY they were given the budgets to make them bigger and better.

It still amazes me that an industry that is spun to attract the most creative types of our era (heck they even have the affront to call their spin doctor senior industry positions things like "creative director"), can be so uncreative and blinkered when it comes to real innovation in a new media.

But when I am online, looking for information, reading the news or simply surfing around aimlessly, the ads are in the way and I block them out.

Wow, this guy should join Nielsen (see thread Jakob Says PDFs Unfit for Human Consumption [webmasterworld.com]). With these two, humanity is saved.
