I Read that - but think that the 76 men and 10 women used in the "survey" (who were all users of the "Married But Flirting" forum) might not be the most unbiased or representive users to base the results on!

Nothing "new" about it, IMO. People have conducted extra-marital love affairs by mail since mail service was invented. Literary history is full of them.

Before the advent of postal service though, my imagination fails me as to how the average person would conduct a long-distance romance... you'd almost need to be rich enough to afford the services of a private courier/manservant.

However, given the quality of discourse in most chat rooms, I'm happy to assume these little flings won't actually be saved for posterity...
