This is the funniest bit of Propaganda parody
I have seen.

The scary part, it really is the official government web site of North Korea.

Check it out.

Don't forget to join the North Korea Friendship
club, better yet sign up someone you don't like :)

Splash page city. Funny, in a sad sorta way. Propaganda, no doubt. It's practically a parody of itself, if that is possible.

Hmm, you'd think they could do better.

Actually, I thought the site looked better than I expected it would, (content aside) :)
Too bad the 'souvenirs' are not yet ready to sell, I so wanted one..

I wonder if they speak Spanish?
At least their hostmasters probably do.

I'm impressed, they even offer the site in Esperanto. And, each language version has different pictures with, perhaps, different information?

How do we know that's the official site. I could build a site like that and call it official. I bet I'd get a lot of traffic too.

CBC newsworld has it listed as the official North
Korean Site. As the main Canadian News Voice, they will be eating crow it they actually are
linking to a spoof site.

Hmm, the registrar is
COMPUTER SERVICES LANGENBACH GMBH DBA JOKER.COM

Somehow this sounds a bit strange for an official site...

CBC Newsworld did pull the link, after I notified them that it was a good chance that the site was really a fake.

With any other country, it would be obvious, but with a country where they have a supreme leader that has been dead for the past 8 years, you can expect anything.

I wonder if they get spam ofering to raise their profile?

Not to mention emails to Kim Jong-Il from "Nigerians" offering large sums of money?

"Nigerians" offering large sums of money

Oh - they are definitely Nigerians, but it is the "large sums of money" that should be in quotes. ;)

I always find this kind of world information to be quite fascinating, in regards to understanding people around the world, just a little bit.

Probably the most important job anyone can successfully undertake, yet the same job for which 99.99999% of people the world over are dangerously unqualified for, is leadership. Doesn't matter who or where you are, or what you're doing, good leadership is the most important thing in the world.

We, here in the west, may get mad or upset when we see something like that site, so different and alien from our own views.
Over there, certainly nobody can criticize or parody their leaders, even if they are insane, greedy or stupid. Yet on both sides we are all led in one way or another.

But as a collection of people, we're not that different either. Here we can criticize our leaders, but that doesn't make them less stupid, less greedy or less insane. We even have our own form of propaganda - commercial advertising, movies, videos, news. They all have to push something that most of us can never live up to and frankly never should unless we want to go mad.

In SO many ways, we're all the same, just living on the flip side of one another. I guess the best thing is just to not worry about it, let them be themselves and let me be myself, because we all have the same needs, it just comes about in different forms.

This is the funniest bit of Propaganda parody I have seen.
----
[whitehouse.gov...] is right there...especially iraq(propaganda, just check the photos...oh everybody so happy and smiling and waving and cheering...i wonder where are all the photos and stories of the last monhts uproars and killing of us soldiers? and errors and misleadings and inteligence faults? hmm...maybe their web server is full?..) and economy (parody)section..

probalby most of you will strongy disagre with me but so would most of North koreans if you would told them about propaganda and "parody" of their leader and "website"...if you are "outside" then it is easy to see thigns objectivelly..

but that korea site is funny ...
[korea-dpr.com...]
check out the video on top right corner ..what is funny is all those portrets of leader...one even him on the horse :) his regime is a disaster and he should be removed that is for sure....the size of the army is scary...this regime is really mad...

what is a mistery to me is how come no one in usa is afriad of this madman with WMD and i think third biggest army in the world, publicly threatening you? instead you "sleep safer" as your guys are chasing some old guy in the desert with no WMD...THAT is the propaganda trick with big P that your leaders pulled on you that even "the great Kim" would not be ashamed of and a real parody i would say...

i agree with snowman...
