Best "Chick Flick" from the guy's perspective?

My wife bought "What Women Want" starring Mel Gibson. I have to say I was rather distracted by Helen Hunt and Melissa Tomei and forgot I wasn't supposed to be interested in the movie.

Are there any other movies like this?

I've been mystified all my life as to what women want. Then, I watched "What Women Want", and the answer became clear. They want Mel Gibson.

If on the cover I see people hugging and smiling, it has no hope in hell of being rented.

If on the cover I see people hugging and smiling...

You're passing up lots of good adult films with that criteria...

I think I'm much safer with my general rule of not renting it if the cover features a large explosion as the major design element (or the cast list includes Vin Diesel...).

If the title of the movie has the word, "Heart" in it, then I'm generally not going to see it.

If the movie blurb has the word, "Triumph" anywhere near the words,"Human Spirit" it might as well have cooties- I'm not touching it.

A great chick flick? "Down With Love!"

Then you would miss out on Deniro playing the devil in "Angelheart"...
Great role in a freaky film. (not a chick flick)

There are always exceptions to the rule. If Deniro is in it, it doesn't matter what the title is.

Return to Me - David Duchovny and Minni Driver - the wife made me rent it and I was pleasantly suprised - it's an excellent movie.

when you say "from a guy's perspective"...
do you mean:
a) best for getting your girl in the right mood
b) most enjoyable for a guy to watch
c) one with the most interesting scenary?

To tell the truth I meant chick flicks that have a decent amount of "eye candy" to make things interesting.

It's funny how threads morph into other things.

As far as other nominations...
The Wedding Singer (not sure if this was a chick flick)
Never Been Kissed (ok so I have this thing for Drew)
The Wedding Planner (JLo)
Bound (Starring Gina Gershon and written/directed By The Wachowski's)
To Die For (once again not sure if this was a chick flick but when the wife see's a movie stars Nicole Kidman she is on board)

Cinema Paradiso.

Real chick flick I shouldn't have enjoyed, but did. Great to watch with a girl (or your wife).
