I'm not Canadian, but I like Canada a lot... can I have a happy Canada Day too?
I've been spending a lot of time in Buffalo lately and I must say it's very nice to have such a convenient foreign country that's not too foreign... It's a bit surreal, though, crossing international boundaries simply because there's a better Chinese restaurant on the other side. Good neighbors are a valuable thing. I was trying to articulate what it was that made Canada great and I couldn't tell... it's like the US, only without all the... dirt? I couldn't put my finger on what was so much better... Maybe it's that the beer's better and it all flows from that. :D
So I echo that happy Canada Day, and I even went online to find out the history behind it. I also took a quiz to find out how Canadian I was and I'm proud to say that due to my acquaintance with poutine, Smarties, and ice hockey I passed with flying colors. Perhaps I'm more an international woman of mystery than I'd thought. ;D
