Ok, there's a couple of threads running at the moment regarding the "quality" of adverting to which you are subjected on the Internet - made "topical" by the fact that Google Adsense are running such ads on their network, and webmasters are unhappy about being "associated" with such operations.

Obviously, it is not possible to get rich quick or make money fast by any repeatable process (basic economics / inflation).

So, why are these schemes, spams, websites, adverts (for which people are paying for clicks) so prolific? What's going on?

Are there really enough suckers out there that believe that a $19.99 eBook will bring riches and a yacht on the Mediterranean within 3 months?

Can't we just kick'em all off the Internet? :)

i agree with the quote "there's a sucker born every minute".

what gets me is that so few of these people face legal action - it would take just one cop paid to do all the schemes that come along - the money would be made back in fines when they find the schemes don't work.
