I'm all set for the trip down to Glastonbury Festival on Thursday, and getting v excited at the prospect of seeing alot of my favourite bands. It's my first time going down (but not my first to a festival - been going since I was 5!) and I can't wait.

Here's hoping for a sunny weekend...

Anyone else going down?

Unfortunatly i missed out on tickets this year, but im busy orchestrating a parachute jump onto the grounds, to avoid those fences that got even bigger this year ;)

Tosspot17 - I'm so jealous!

Once my little ones are not so little I will definetley be taking them, I remember the green fields was always a good campsite for oldies with kiddies!

Though probably pay to get in, shouldnt really be teaching them to scale walls or charge gates :)

Have a good one.

Tried to get tickets, the day they went on sale, but they were sold in 10 minutes - impressive.

TP have a good time, check out the Cinema at 2-4am thats pretty happening, and also the Stone Circles in the Fields of Avalon about 5am on Monday morning, loads of alternative stuff up there.

Excellant festival, been there 3 times, over the last decade, last time i went - was by myself, had an excellant experience. Visit the Hot Scrumpy Cider Bus, on the left of the Pyramid stage, behind the tree line, be careful though, that stuff makes harden drinkers passout via pucking all over themselves - quite amusing really.

Tosspot17, I'm jealous, tried to get tickets but they went too quick.

I did manage to get to stonehenge for the summer solstice, they opened the stones to the public, excellent night! I recommend the experience if you get the chance next year.

I was always put off Glastonbury by the state that my friends who go come home in.

1000 yard stares for a week afterwards, clothes covered in mud and stories of falling asleep where they fell over, robbing scousers, over zealous security and there is always a tale about how some stranger went to to the toilet on someones tent.

3,000 bands and all the other entertainment does offset this but I can still think of more idyllic situations :-)

I think the first time you go, its a bit of a mind blower, but once you realise that the intoxicants, there get as strong as you don't need, and moderation, and music come into mind, its actually very chilled out.
