This November I will hit 20 years on Webmasterworld. A treasured experience---one that I hope will go another twenty! Memories abound. Members met on the forum (and some in person). Members who have passed to the Code Desk in the Sky. New members make me smile---sometimes with a sigh, but always with welcome.
Early daze (sic) Webmasterworld was a fountain of knowledge (still is!) freely given by cheerful and often patient members when the web was yet fresh and exciting. Advice, both technical and life/business among the electrons created opportunity of thought and personal growth. I can't repay any of that, other than to be here and pay forward whatever I have to offer. AND very grateful that THAT adventure is still here thanks to Brett and company.
Meanwhile, there's a secondary wonder happening for this keyboard pounder:
My votes. Not that I'm looking for any but the current count actually has a secondary meaning each time I log on. Why? Some of you know I was born in the latter days of the first half of the last century, which for youngsters means I am >= age of dirt. The current vote count is hitting my "coming of age, invincibility, conscription, first success, first marriage, first..." and seeing that number I have other memories to enjoy/sorrow/cherish each day I log in to see what new madness is posted.
Regardless of above, it is the daily (and I do check daily!) Webmasterworld community that is important. To see what's shakin'! Don't post all the time. I'm picky about my topics of interest---things for which I have a passion and valid viewpoint. Most times I supply humor relief as all too often there's no humor when folks are logging in desperate for answers why g has deserted them. Or I'll offer a long term viewpoint on what HAS gone before and will come around again. Real world observations of markets, economics, and world events that add context to what is happening to "traffic today"...
All of these things mean something to me. I am so grateful there is YOU to share these thoughts and experiences, things learned the hard way. Appreciate your patience when I step in it. Probably will again in the future, through I really, really, really try to avoid that!
Middle of Summer. Fall is coming. And in November there will be another Twenty I can add to all the other Twenty's in my life.
THANK YOU.
