Early happy start of our 28th year of WebmasterWorld!

We started in January of 97 on my ISP running an early crash prone copy of UBB, and then tossed everything and moved to SearchEngineWorld.com in mid 98 (running IKon board). I wasn't quite able to keep everything with a software change and finally created our own software and domain in late 99.

Thanks for 28 great years of the forum, and 25th year at our own domain.

Thank you for building the best place to find the experienced help that people who were getting started could come to for actual answers. The magick tools were not around yet but so many who had 'been there, done that' made this the place to find out how to do it all right. An amazing 28 years, thank you!

i can't remember when i joined, as this is my second user name. but it was shortly before the first ever pubcon at the Duke of Yorke which I went to.
i'd never touched a computer before but thought i needed to build a website for my business ... i bought a computer, got on the internet and found this forum.
things have worked out reasonably well for me and virtually everything i learned has been through this place ... so thank you very much for setting it up and steering the ship for so many years.

I joined in 2001, went to a London pubconf, enjoyed the site and learnt plenty.

Paused a bit when I stopped building websites but my work roles often find me responsible for web stuff so I kept coming back.

This site has always been a "type in" for me.

Hello Webmaster Team! I am new to this site, but the "Search Engine Journal" leads me here. Congrats on 28 years. I was in the nursing admin world. Software Engineers made things complicated for me back in the day. Hahaha.
Hubby and I own a mom-and-pop furnished homes hospitality community for business travelers on a month-by-month basis. Digital marketing advertising and all that goes with it is why I am here. Dawn

Welcome Cozy. Funny, my wife took your path in reverse. She was a marketing director at a tech startup. We met right here at WebmasterWorld as she taught herself SEO. She then went back to nursing school, then masters, then dr in nursing, and now a professor teaching nursing at a major university.
