Google is busy sending out emails to inactive accounts and it's interesting how many i've received in the last few weeks. I haven't been counting, but it's certainly trying hard to get a users' attention.

What would really help when Google sends out these emails is to indicate the account to which they refer. Why? Over the years i've managed many, many accounts for businesses and all i'm getting is a generic message. You may say to log into each account and job done. Of course, but when I no longer actively manage that account for someone, and they may not know about this and want access, there's a danger it could be removed and won't be useable again.

What's the easy answer, Google?

I've got only one email like that, not sure which thing it is for though because I had tried GA years ago, found it not right for my needs and never used it again. They can close that. Maybe I should log in to the accounts I do use and not worry about any other accounts. I think there are only 2 services I still use.

Are you CC'd, forwarded on these emails?

My main ticktacktoe with it was to create a separate alias/account on the domain that is being managed and use that to login to GOOG when needed. Receive/forward all GOOG Mail from that to dev@mydevdomain or such. When not needed nuke it and off GOOG goes.

These are old accounts, so it was forwarded to one address. I know what you're thinking, and yes, I should have had individual addresses. This was before that time, and I can't turn the clock back.

If google added a login link, or an account name it'd help greatly. I get it there's a security issue with phishing, but google should be able to get over that, IMHO. Once deleted by google it will not be accessible again.

This is a part of an email that was sent out by GOOG..

How to keep your account active?

The simplest way to keep a Google Account active is to sign in to the account at least once every two years. If you have signed in to your Google Account recently in the past two years, your account is considered active and will not be deleted.

Other ways to keep your account active include:

Reading or sending an email
Using Google Drive
Watching a YouTube video
Sharing a photo
Downloading an app
Using Google Search
Using Sign in with Google to sign in to a third-party app or service

Which basically states that ONE MUST BE LOGGED-in(share yo DATA u bugger)!.

They just remind you that They Exist (M&M commercial) and they have your MAD Data, and don't forget to turn on Location Services on you device though.. cause last time it did not work(cause Santa apparently got lost somewhere around Horn of Africa while trying to fire up brand-spanking new self-driving Street View Slays).....

That's all...

I'm only logged into any account while I carry out various tasks, and in any case I never leave it logged in.

Currently trawling through the accounts and changing access emails to make it easier next time round.
