San Francisco was once known as an important high tech hub. Now? Not so much. In the past 2 years a lot of high tech companies have left SF, or downsized, Many of the remaining companies have announced plans to shutter their SF activites permanently to focus on their business elsewhere.

SF recently broke the record for number of tech layoffs in a day - [abc7news.com...]

Talent being laid off is moving elsewhere, most with no plans of returning due to "other" issues with living in the bay area, according to recent polls.

End of an era, I wonder where the new tech hubs will end up as the Silicon Valley to Bay area fades.

The SF Standard has built a Tech Layoff Tracker - [sfstandard.com...]

Related - what happens when big tech leaves? Do empty offices affect home prices? Something to know if you live near a dying tech hub - [sfstandard.com...]

The bright side - All of the empty condos can be put to good use by US border towns further south currently unable to support the record numbers of new arrivals.

NIMBY, I hope!

There are other issues involved in the tech flight from SF... most of them are not applicable to chat on WW.
