Why do people wish they could go back in time to make a change that would make the world a better place today? It sounds lazy to me.
You have today, just make the change!

100%.
This is the lesson of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol".

Also, there's a quote by CS Lewis on much the same theme:
You can't go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.

True, but inaction changes nothing! Don't worry about what you can't change. If you see room for improvement, and you can help, do it. It is very rewarding!
This was inspired by a recent news article suggesting everyone reflect on what they "could change" if they went back in time. The future isn't behind us. You probably didn't read the article and it's not worth linking but... Eyes forward, focus on now.

going back in time to change things may have unforeseen consiquences - aka the butterfly effect (great movie)
i totally agree that it is about today.
as the serenity prayer says:
[God grant me] "the courage to change the things i can"
Jordan Peterson is a great advocate of change today, he often teaches in his lectures to try and do one thing a day that will make life better tommorow, no matter how tiny, as each day adds up.

But why stop there? Just leave things on their present course and let some future generation deal with it.

So I should invest in Bitcoin today?
That would be LOSING change, not making it. Pun intended.
