... it lets me unsubscribe from so many wonderful mailing lists I never signed up for.

I do wonder however, when I click spam, report, delete and the tracking reports I never opened the email... is a lowly paid grunt fired for poor performance somewhere by the senders of these emails?

They must be right? Because they didn't write a compelling enough title I was denied the opportunity not to spend as much money on their products!

I noticed quite a few of these recently, for obvious reasons, as they send out their marketing and sales material.

It's very clear that quite a few are harvested. They have the cheek to suggest that i'm receiving the email it because I signed up at their website. Au contraire, especially as i've never heard of them before.

... and if you make the mistake of sending in an Unsubscribe request, your email gets transferred to a shorter and more expensive list of People Who Open Their Email.

Sometimes, a bounce works better than an unsubscribe.

Never unsubscribe, or open them. Deleting and reporting as spam is the way to go.

Also, beware the phone scammers this year. They have an old. but new to some, tacticin play again this season apparently.

They call knowing most won't answer an unknown number and an automated message says "This is for such and such. If that's you click #1. If it's not, Click #2."

DO NOT CLICK - it's just a queue that will connect you with a spam center that already knows your actual name and info. It's a robocaller. They want to speak with the type who would trust and click.

an automated message says
I occasionally find those “If suchandsuch, then click” messages on my answering machine. This would make a little bit of sense if I found only part of the message, because those are the robocalls that start talking as soon as the phone is answered. But if they can tell the difference between the listening-to-a-recording stage and the leaving-a-message stage, what exactly do they think they are accomplishing?

--I love Black Friday because.--

Google completely "disconnects" our ecom site in SERP couple days before and some days later it all AUTOMagicaly just comes back(traffic and sales).

We call it a Pink Vacation!

p.s. waiting till Christmas season kicks in...
