Mr Zuckerberg of Facebook fame and Dana White of UFC fame signed an agreement Thursday to bring some version of the octagon to the virtual world - [insider.com...]

Mr Zuckerberg had been spotted at an almost private match recently, both sides denied it, but now it's official. The way the entire deal was handled has been a head scratcher so far.

It remains to be seen if people who crave the brutality of human gladiators will mesh with people who crave the safety of avatars in a virtual world. Think it will work or further divide? It seems Mr Zuckerberg is targeting demographics who would otherwise have no interest in an entirely virtual world and advertisers aren't thrilled.

On the flip side it gives the UFC some prime virtual realestate so maybe Mr White is making out like a bandit.?

Or is it publicity to entice more people to buy the newly released $1,499.00 virtual headets?

Time will tell but, thoughts? Personally I find it feels like too much cringe to make much business sense, on both sides of the octagon (real/virtual).

Here would be a good theme song for "fight nght" in the metaverse [youtube.com...]

Too late to edit the OP but, you guys probably aren't up to speed on the early hate between UFC fighters and Zuckerberg. It started when Instagram was shutting down fighter accounts, example - Paddy Pimblett after winning a fight has some choice words for Mark (around 2:15) [youtube.com...]

Rocky start.
