Meta and Google Face Joint EU-UK Investigation Over Online Ads Pact

In September 2018, the companies struck an agreement with the codename "Jedi Blue," which allows Meta to compete in Google's Open Bidding Program for online ad space. Now the UK's Competition and Markets Authority and the EU's Competition Commission are concerned that the agreement may form part of a plan to prevent other ad tech services competing with Google.

Rule of law doesn't seem to concern certain actors anymore. They act like they own the place with their platforms. Investigations don't make people feel like something is being done about it either. It's almost as if the investigation is being done as part of the illusion for onlookers, a chance to say "we work closely with oversight and follow the law... (as we stretch and beat the heck out of it without actual consequence).

Maybe if investigations actually got somewhere and had some bite for a change... and that's a general statement, not specifically about this case or these two actors.
