An inspired alternative to Universal Basic Income (UBI)

More modest... but more achievable and almost certainly more practical

In the late 2000s and early 2010s, CityBike networks started to take off worldwide.

In the mid-2010s, they were joined by CityScooter networks.

Perhaps, in time, these networks will represent the larval stage of Universal Basic Mobility

I quite like the idea of looking at current challenges and experimenting with applying new technologies. This could be a game-changer for those in the target sector. Sadly, it all comes down to money to make it work.

Fair point, but...

1) There is money from visible sponsorship. When the Ken Bikes - I mean Boris Bikes - first landed in London, they were blue and sponsored by Barclays. When Sadiq Khan became Mayor of London, the bikes turned red and were (and still are) sponsored by Santander.

2) What about if every time you cycled a UBM electric bike at least one mile for five days in a row, the associated app on your mobile gave you an affiliate coupon code for which merchants had submitted bids to get their offer in front of hundreds / thousands of eyeballs?

3) What about if a health and life insurance company partnered with a UBM network in the same way as Vitality partners with parkrun?

I'm sure there are many other brainstormable ideas which could help make UBM a self-funding reality.
