“A lot of elementary school kids have thought that it [to give free money to everyone] is a good idea,” Altman says.
Hmmm there is that word... Free, just like Facebook is free, and gmail and Google are free. Now money is free.

Altman, however, says that the system is secure and that the company will not be storing user data. Every picture of an iris will be converted into a digital code, called IrisHash, which will be stored in Worldcoin’s database
Wait what? Lets summarize that
We will not be storing user data ... which will be stored in Worldcoin’s database
Oh yes I get it because you "hash" the data, and most people have know idea what that words mean you can then claim that you don't have the data. It is like giving someone the key to your house, they make an imprint of it and give back and claim that they don't have your key. But of course it is worse, because in the case of an imprint you could prove that they do in fact have a facsimile of the key that would allow them to make a copy. However in the case of the hash only they can know what the hash represents. It is more like you give them the key, they unlock your door change the lock with a lock that can be open with your key and a new different key. They then return the key to you. They can them make copies of this new key and sell to who ever they want to let people into your home. When you realize that you have intruder's you go back them, but then have no way of proving that there even exists another key, how many keys exist what it looks like or what it can do.
So is it really free money? No you are selling your privacy and much more, where the much more is not-quantifiable, they can do what they with that "hash" going forward and what's more they have exclusivity on it.
This is truly bonkers. This should be illegal as it is criminal.
It is worth noting that most of the scans are being carried out in third world countries where privacy laws are non-existant.
Worldcoin has been hiring people to recruit the Orb Operators, according to an ad posted on a Kenian job bulletin).
Oh and what has this got to do with cryptocurrency?
One, it is a great buzz-word, never under estimate good marketing and a shiny user interface (the orb). Two, people agreeing to this are being "paid" in a currency that is effectively the same as casino token, assessing the true value of such token is difficult if not impossible.
So in conclusion you are being fleeced.
