I am looking for an alternative to CClearner.

A software which can delete Browser's cache, cookies, history, as well as system temporary files, compact Thunderbird db, in one action.

I'd like it to be free open source, and to have a github repository.

And ideally, with both Windows and Linux versions.

Any suggestion ?

Edit: so far, I found BleachBit [github.com...] any feedback ?

That looks interesting. Did you read the press section?

I've not used that software.

CCleaner has a Linux port in GCleaner. Besides bleachbit, I don't think there are other open source cleaners that run on Windows and Linux.

Did you read the press section?

LOL

In an earlier discussion, [webmasterworld.com...] FixWin was mentioned. Note, I have no knowledge of it's efficacy.

Thank you for your answers.

I hadn't read the press section, indeed :)

Now, I don't mind the recoverable aspect of deleted files, or privacy protection, etc... I am just looking for a tool which can delete all useless files, without having to go into each software and delete them individually.

I did configure my browsers to delete history/cookies when closed. But still I'd like a tool for what I would have missed.

I mentioned my preference for an open source software, with a github repository, because I assume (may be wrongly) that they are safer. Since everybody can review the code, I guess that if there is malicious code inside, this would be spotted nearly immediately.

My concerns with CCleaner, is that, at least one time (may be more, I don't know), a malicious code was injected into the software.

CCleaner is now owned by Avast. There have been reports that the Avast AntiVirus was at some point in time tracking users.

Yes martinibuster, this is another reason I was looking for something else.
