I was rather flabbergasted yesterday to receive a registered letter informing me that (paraphrased) contract is null and void as not having provided required services.

In something of a confused panic I ran a correspondence search. Found a sent email from 8-months back regretting inability to accept a new advertiser for at least a year but that would be pleased to place them on a wait list should an opening arise.

And four days prior a received email setting out ad buy requirements and payment schedule. A vague memory of the way lowball offered payment being the reason for the slow response, deciding finally on a polite brush off (as above).

Someone has their wires crossed. Or too loosely connected...
Forwarded letter and emails to law-type-person just in case...

That sounds like a law-school exercise.* If a contract was never signed in the first place, can it be considered null and void? In what circumstances would the distinction become significant?

* Something in my brain insists it’s second year. Wonder where that came from?
