And there we go...

[washingtonpost.com...]

Where we are at - we have duck, zzmall duck and Big-Real Duck, they all are...(u read Big, then Real, in that order, dint you ;)?)

Some & many in North Jersey, US. But couple of years alone & back-words, in Tandem times, we were visiting South Beach, FL and there was an abundance of Necklace parrot's sh** hacking their way thru my ear at around 6ish in AM going onward.

NOTE: No FELINE or Reptiles smack belong this point, please :)

Ah yes peacocks.

A very long time ago now I lived for some years in Victoria, British Columbia. Beacon Hill park is 75 hectares (200 acres) of loveliness on the downtown waterfront that includes a petting zoo and a few dozen peacocks.

The first time I went for an early morning run through the dawns early fog and heard the peacocks... my heart went up, my guts went down, and well it sounded like nothing more than a woman in extreme agony. In darkest dawn fog on a path between trees and high bush; an Edgar Allan opening.

I truly thought I was going to have to attempt a rescue from I knew not what... when the path came by a chain fence caged enclosure and things inside moved on tree branches... and screamed... it was both a relief and a... the adrenaline rush/crash was epic.

For real scary there are geese. They will put the run on dogs, on cattle... there is good reason why the Romans used them as watch bird guardians. Pecks bruise and can draw blood, wing hits can bruise, knock off balance... when one attacks they all gang on, and the noise...

Peacocks and geese. Freaking dinosaur descendants.

Baked, roasted or batter fried, all are delicious, though some are more gamey than others. Remember, they flock together. A gaggle of geese is a force to be reckoned with! Pea fowl are pestiferous, particularly in some Florida suburbs.
