Over in this thread about Brave Search [webmasterworld.com], there were comments about Brave browser.

I don't get the ads and the pestering as mentioned.

One annoyance is the default to reopening the same tabs when restarting (mostly from cache), but that can be easily changed in settings.

Apart from that, the browser is fast and seems to work just fine for me.

Brave ads are opt-in and only available in a handful of countries. Due to opt-in, the ads should not be visible right after installation, unless displaying them was explicitly allowed during the installation process. The ads are somewhat annoying though and their main advertisers are all in the finance/stock/crypto area.

I downloaded the browser, got pestered to invest in cryptocurrencies, then deleted it.

I use brave and got rid of those WidgitCoin annoyances in either "Edit Preferences" (the gear icon), or in "Customize". Dunno which now, but I have pretty much a totally empty brave window.

One feature I like is the "Scroll for Brave Today" news feed. That, too, can be customized to
eliminate certain sources you do want to see.
