To all supporters of The Reds:
When you walk through a storm, hold your head up high and don't be afraid of the dark

and of the Red Devils:
keep the Red Flags flying high
You’ve got to see yourself from far and wide

Should you still be blotto or laid low by hangover I quite understand.

I'm more of an Oceanics fan myself.

Incidentally I was intrigued by “hold your head up high” because that’s always what I understood the lyric to be, but just recently I saw a performance of Carousel (ugh! what a nasty play! never again) and they clearly and unambiguously sang “hold your chin up high” every time. It was jarring.

@lucy24: interesting... I’d have defaulted to Chocolatiers, in the unlikely event of being asked your preference...

Personally, I’m on the side of #LetChaosReign (great) Balls of Chaos; not that anyone I know cares...

If I remember correctly, chin up is the theatrical version, head up from the movie...
I watched the movie as a child and later, as an adult, on TV and agree: particularly unpleasant, unlike most musicals of the time even others with a socially sad premise eg Westside Story née R&J.

Poor Ferenc Molnar had a long history of making plays on grownup subjects that then got syrupified by Hollywood and/or Broadway.

For me the high point of the entire month of August was when the Oceanics walloped the O’Rangers in the first round of I-forget-which-event. Aquasomething. This was so thrilling, it didn’t even matter that they in turn got eliminated in the next round. (For people who are not up to speed: rooting for the O’Rangers is like being a Yankees fan, in that it's entirely pointless because you already know they're going to win everything.)

Edit: The annoying thing about WSS is that they think they’re making the story more realistic by putting it into a plausible urban setting, but instead they only reveal that they've missed the entire point of R&J as a teenage melodrama.
