I listened to music that I haven’t listened to in years. I had forgotten how very funny the last movement of Beethoven’s 7th (the coda that wags the symphony) is.

This is preferable to attempting to play the recorder, which I also haven't done in years. I thought it would be good for my lungs. As it turns out, it rivals the vacuum cleaner* as a guaranteed way to drive Greebo out of the house when he is going stir-crazy.

* The real one, that is. The first time I ran the robotic vacuum, Greebo was so terrified he forgot all about pretending not to know how to operate the cat door, but now he just gives it a dirty look and goes about his business.

With things "slowed down" I've had more time to drag out my musical instruments and make music. Firing up the digital 8 track, doing 3 part vocal harmonies, drums, guitars (all kinds), bass, violin ... there's keyboard parts, but I sold that critter a few years ago and haven't replaced it yet.

Since this Covid-19 vacation began all live music venues are shut down so the band and I haven't had much to do...

Worse, our charity work, playing nursing homes, assisted living, and managed care facilities 52 weeks a year (one per week) has been put on hold indefinitely. Our other gigs for bucks (120/yr) are no more ... and missing that income!
