E.U. Warns Of Privacy Risks in Google and Fitbit Acquisition

The E.U.'s European Data Protection Board (EDPB) has warned over the Google acquisition of Fitbit [webmasterworld.com]being a risk to users' privacy.


Such access is worrying, the EU privacy watchdog said.

“The possible further combination and accumulation of sensitive personal data regarding people in Europe by a major tech company could entail a high level of risk to privacy and data protection,” it said.

What is less surprising, that Google acquires a company with a product that directly monitors and stores personal data or the EU in their crusade against big-tech in general and Google, in particular, issuing a fierce warning? I am afraid many people are getting tone-deaf to this kind of news.
