Do you have one of these?

The doorbell-camera company Ring has quietly forged video-sharing partnerships with more than 400 police forces across the United States, granting them access to homeowners’ camera footage and a powerful role in what the company calls America’s “new neighborhood watch.”

Homeowners can opt out ... then again, they weren't asked in the first place.

The internet has really changed things!

More to the point other people whose property might be visible through the camera have not consented.

Its not just the US. They have started working with police forces to promote it - so government bodies are providing marketing for them. Not right.

I don't have one of these, and i'm unlikely to get one, or from a similar company.
It's of little use if you can't actually get it to work remotely.

A standard CCTV will work just fine if you want to see who's at the door.
