Flying in for a wedding later today - near Stamford, Saturday - just wanted a quick and lazy weather check. Lots of you are in or near Nottingham/Leicester, aren't you?

Thanks, Mat

You'll be coming on the warmest day of the year so far - good choice. It's going to be around 26-26C according to the BBC - nice and sunny. Hope you brought your sunnies! :)

Prepare yourself for a half naked 20 year old football fan or two.
When it gets a bit warmer than the norm all the premier league football wannabees start getting excited.

Tuscany, where it's already been in the mid 30's and humidity is over 90%. Add rural electricity supply that's not up to running air-conditioning, and we're in for a long summer.

Looking forward to some brown beer.

Considering I live in Exeter and we only just managed to stay in the third division this year, we dont get many premier league football wannabees around here :)

Thats because Exeter suck. I live in London and im an avid Man City supporter so I try and hide most of the time for fear of being battered. :)

I'm in Grantham at the moment (lucky me!) - about 40 mins drive from nottingham, and the sun is shining (even had to turn the air con on!).

You picked a good day to come mat!

<added>just had a quick look on multimap, and realised i'm about 40 mins from stamford too! I think you'll have a sunny one this weekend. :) </added>

I bet it rains at the weekend :(

I am amazed and astounded! Today it really is hot and sunny in the UK...what has gone wrong?

The weather forecasters said it would be hot and sunny and the were RIGHT! Lap up the sunshine while you can.

Heading for a breakfast beer and to catch some rays at the local pub - lol!

>>Prepare yourself for a half naked 20 year old football fan or two.

You do not indicate whether the "half naked 20 year old football fans " on the streets of Nottingham are likely to be male, female, or both!

and its very sunny in Cornwall too

Great in Brighton too, <just a shame i work in a cramped, poorly ventilated office about 10 miles up the road in 'ugly' burgess hill> Hopefully I can make it back though in time for a couple of beers on the beach (unless the rain's started by then of course.. )

tigger - thanks for making my day just that little bit more unbearable here in my office. Someone stole my table fan this morning - actually - they have stolen it back... :(

This thread reminds me of one of the reasons I live in Thailand. If it was 26 here, we would need to put the heating on :)
