I'm sure it won't come as a surprise that Microsoft says some Skype conversations are being monitored for quality improvement purposes.
"Microsoft gets customers' permission before collecting and using their voice data," a spokeswoman for the firm said in a statement.

"We also put in place several procedures designed to prioritise users' privacy before sharing this data with our vendors, including de-identifying data, requiring non-disclosure agreements with vendors and their employees, and requiring that vendors meet the high privacy standards set out in European law."

I'm sure that "permission" is buried somewhere in the T&Cs, and many people won't realise it's going on.

Around here, no, but all this exposure is starting to make people think about voice search and chat.
I'm sure the vast majority of conversations have little significance or importance, but that's not the point.
