Hi all, i recently bought myself a new DVD player (my ps2 was choking on some disks) and i decided to fork over the extra 10 bucks to get one that play's vcd.

I have been browsing around at vcd software, and I was wondering if anyone could give me any recomendations. Some of the software i have seen seems overly complex, while other titles i have looked at are nothing more than front ends to several other different programs.

I just wanna burn some smurf video's i downloaded to a vcd. :(

Try Nero, they have a fairly easy wizard that will walk you thru the process.

Yep, Nero is the way to go. And they have a free demo [nero.com].

Yes Nero is the way to go. Even helps you make Menus. If you want interactive menus try Nero Vision Express.

I have to agree with the rest - Nero also converts AVIs fairly nicely.

I have a collection of farscape episodes that are 90% from AVIs, and the quality is quite good IMHO.

For longer length films I generally search for the VCD or MPG version to start with, bcz I am too lazy to convert & cut it.
